A-bar and spot lights

Both A-bar and Wipac 8", 100W spot lights ordered from England.


Test fitting shows that there is not enogh clearance between lamp housing and grill



So extenstion brackets were made up

A-bar was drilled out so that wires could run inside

And also the bumper was drilled for the wiring

Spotlights fitted

And a very neat installation

And the wiring can hardly be seen

The relay wired up

And fitted

Dashboard wiring added

The genuine Land Rover switch was wired up

And is fitted in the spare location on the dash

Mission completed

Assembly

Plenty of rust protection oil during assembly

Also the rivets beeing rust protected

Doors beeing fitted

Bracket for spare wheel fitted as well as doors

But still much is left...

Looks ok from all sides

Rear crossmember treated and tow hook with brackets fitted

And the windscreen is on with new seal

Hood and fender fitted

Also left fender with nice signs of rust protection

Side steps, new checker plate and mudflaps fitted

Also on the left side

Followed by wheel arches



Block heater

It was decided to fit an electrical 220V Calix block heater which will later be complemented with a 220V electrical cab heater. On the wish list is also a Webasto diesel heater but this has to wait for a while...

To get access to the frost plug, the starter had to be removed



The plug is localised...

And removed



The heater has been fitted

Starter motor refitted with the heater behind

The wiring will be finalised later



Chassis treatment

All loose rust beeing brushed off

Also the other components got a new layer of green paint

I nearly forgot the fenders

Many components got a couple of black coats

Like the side foot steps

And tow hook components

The grille got a new coat of gray
